Hiring employees becoming harder

As the global war for talent intensifies, companies are seeing increasing pressure on their ability to hire employees, and then retain them. No company is exempt from this rule, not even McDonald’s.
A recent article in Workforce Management Magazine entitled McDonald’s Faces Teen Labor Shortage speaks to the growing issue with some interesting facts. But this does not come as a surprise… we have been hearing all along that the war for talent is increasingly putting pressure on companies to rethink their approach to hiring and retaining people.
As many smart organizations know, a well executed workforce management solution is one of the many steps to addressing this problem. If used to its fullest potential, such a solution could help identify and close potential candidates, provide consistent and streamlined interactions with them and help them work the shifts they ‘want’ to work, not those ones they ‘have’ to.
Of course, a good solution also helps reduce administrative and manual tasks which results in lower operating costs and increased corporate performance. Clearly, the benefits to be had go beyond just hiring and retaining employees.
If you haven’t invested in a workforce management solution yet, its not too late. But your competitors may already have a leg up on you so the longer you wait, the harder it will be for you to catch up to them.
