Starbucks sued again

I guess it’s true… when it rains it pours. Starbucks now faces another law suit from baristas in Massachusetts.
I wonder who else is out there lurking and just waiting to pounce on Starbucks, or some other unsuspecting large employer.
In my earlier post on Starbucks I touched on the importance of properly calculating how much you pay to your employees and ensuring you comply with all applicable regulations. But this is not just a business decision… they key is to operationalize that business decision and utilize technology to automate it.
This also allows you to consistently apply the same rules to all employees, regardless of which one is favoured by their supervisor/manager.
I’m sure the good folks at Starbucks are shaking their heads at this latest suit… I wonder how much effort it will be for them to pull up each employee’s timesheets and pay calculations? Could they have saved all this time, hassle, cost and bad press by having a good Workforce Management solution?
I think all of this could’ve been avoided.
